Uptown
Enhanced by Audubon Park, Audubon Zoo, Tulane and Loyola Universities, a golf course and beautiful old live oak trees, Uptown is one of the most desirable neighborhoods in New Orleans. It was developed during the 19th century, mostly from land that had been plantations in the colonial era. Notable Uptowners have included jazz musicians Louis Armstrong, Buddy Bolden, Harry Connick Jr., The Neville Brothers, Joe “King” Oliver, author Anne Rice, and Saints football quarterbacks Payton Manning, Eli Manning and Drew Brees.
